Duy Anh Nhan Duc
Duy Anh Nhan Duc is a visual artist who handles botanical art in a very singular way. This self-taught, which places no barrier to his artistic approach, likes to imagine the impossible. He merges plants to the human body, integrates them with object, applies them by thousands on his frescos or combines them with his videos and drawings.
Like a botanical cabinet of curiosities, his artworks show nature in all its fragility. The inspiration that he draws from the observation of plants, he transposes it in a very personal narrative, carried by a philosophy where every plant, every name, every sculpture becomes a source of reminiscence loaded with emotions. « Through my creations, I try to capture the unique allure of natural vegetation. All is excuse to tell stories and to honor plant kingdom.»
Last year, the famous concept-store Colette gave him carte blanche. He imagined «Voyage Celeste», an exhibition dedicated to the magical dandelion. For one month on the occasion of Christmas, the visual atist set up his botanical sculptures in all the concept-store. Previously, Duy Anh Nhan Duc exhibited at the Parc Floral of Paris, at the Musée en Herbe and he has collaborated with Louis Vuitton, with the Jardin du Roi de Versailles or with the music festival We Love Green.
In October 2016, the botanical artist will exhibit the series Dandelion, co-created with Isabelle Chapuis at French Institute of Beijing on the occasion of the Sino-French month of ecology. Then from 20th November to 3rd January, 2017, he will present his new botanical sculptures during a solo-show in St Germain-des-Prés in Paris. And on beginning of 2017, his artworks will be exhibited during a solo-show in Bangkok at 56th Studio Private Gallery.
